Staff from three learning centres recently achieved the PDA in Learning Centre Operations qualification.
The learners took the course over three months, mainly studying online with the support of a mentor at their centre.
The award is a nationally recognised qualification awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority which recognises competence in running a learning centre. The course was created to provide a consistency in operations in learndirectscotland branded learning centres, and also to aid development of learning centre staff.
Online tutor William Morrison said: “The PDA in Learning Centre Operations provides an opportunity for staff to develop and improve the services offered within their learning centres. The course also enables learning centre staff to focus on operations and provides a vehicle for not only introducing new systems and procedures, but also enhancing existing ones.
“All those who have so far completed the course have found the experience useful and beneficial to both themselves and their learning centre.”
