YWCA Roundabout Centre Summer School
YWCA Roundabout Centre Summer School
30th June - 25th July 2008
YWCA Roundabout is a women's community centre dedicated to the elimination of racial discrimination in all its forms. Part of YWCA Scotland and the World YWCA, we aim to empower girls and young women to develop their full potential and to participate at all levels of society world wide.
There are 100 places at the summer school available for children:
- aged 5 to those who have just completed P7;
- young women aged 12 - 16.
We need to recruit volunteeers, who have a huge range of skills, experience and backgrounds, to assist in creating the programme for the children and young people. Experience and qualifications are not essential, we just need people with a genuine commitment to equality, empowering and caring for children and young people, and lots of enthusiasm!
Travel expenses are paid, snacks and treats are provided. We always provide a written reference and certificate on completion of the project, and will act as referees by arrangement. Past volunteers have gone on to careers in teaching; youth, community and social work; trade unions; politics and the arts and media.
If you would like to find out more, or to arrange an interview, please contact Emma Crawshaw or Laura Tomson at YWCA Roundabout on 0131 556 1168 or email info@ywcaroundabout.org.
